2009 ASA Outdoor Provincials

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Well, it was a 3-day tour de force but it is finally over.

The 2009 ASA Outdoor Provincials (September 4-7 2009) have been the BEST so far for me as a Soccer Official (a.k.a. Referee). Aside from the usual stupid Masters Premier game where one of the team’s players concern was more about PISSING ME OFF than playing soccer, I was assigned 2 games in the middle for Tier IV and Tier III Men and 4 games as an AR (Assistant Referee).

Great games in the middle for me with very good running and a great improvement in my “angle of view”. As previously said, a very crappy Masters game as AR (NOT because of my fault) and indeed the pleasure of working with a new colleague from Calgary, Josh and the good pal from Peace River, Ken Loudon.

With great surprise, I was then assigned the Gold Medal Final for the Tier IV Women on Monday then SAR (Senior Assistant Referee) for the Bronze Medal game for the Tier IV Men.

Again, I am proud of an outstanding officiating during the Gold Medal Final but KUDOS to both teams for an extremely pleasant game for me to officiate.

Season’s now over but not for me as I have been selected to be part of the restricted number of Officials for the ACAC/UoA games, probably the highest level of soccer in Alberta.

Good times…
